To get the best result out of your ECHO, please follow the instructions step-by-step as written:-
1. Open the Padel Lid by unscrewing the black screw in front. Fix a new 9V battery in the battery clip. Push down the lid & fix the same black screw.
2. Alternatively, this unit can be operated on a 9V Battery Eliminator. Join the battery lead supplied to a 9V-battery eliminator. Insert the jack to the socket at the back of the echo. When eliminator is connected, the unit will draw power from the eliminator. The battery will not be consumed; it will act as a ‘stand-by’ source of supply.
3. Join a Microphone to ‘INPUT’ socket. The LED indicator shall glow if the Padel is pressed once. If Padel is pressed again, LED shall stop glowing. This ensures that power source have been connected correctly. The echo will be ‘ON’ only when mike lead is connected to ‘INPUT’.
4. Connect JP-JP3 lead (supplied with echo) from ‘OUTPUT’ socket to the MIKE input stage of any amplifier. Keep the MIKE volume at ‘1’ or ‘2’. Keep ‘MIKE VOLUME’ on echo to mid-position.
5. Keep DELAY at Mid-point. At ‘0’ or lowest position, the Delay / Echo (delay time between original and echoed sound) is maximum. At full or ‘10’ position, Delay is minimum or shortest.
6. Keep ECHO also at Mid-point. At ‘0’ position, Echo / Delay is Zero i.e. only Original or Direct sound will be heard. On advance from ‘0’ to ‘1-2-3’. Echo sound will start alongwith Original Sound but Echoes Intensity shall be weaker than the original. App. at Mid-point or slightly lesser, Original and its Echo will be of equal intensity. On further advance from ‘4’ to ‘10’ Echo will become stronger and Original will be weaker.
7. Keep INTENSITY also at Mid-point. At ‘0’ position, the numbers of repetitions are lowest. At full the number of repetitions are highest.
8. At this setting, a nice REVERBERATION EFFECT or ‘HALL EFFECT’ sound shall be heard. At this position, around 50% direct and 50% echoed sound is mixed and then fed back to the circuit to create this effect.
9. Slowly decreasing DELAY shall decrease no. of echoes, thereby increasing delay time between two echoes.
10. With slight practice, you shall be able to create different sound effects using these three effect controls. Please practice to learn create desired sound effects.
11. DIRECT OUT SOCKET: - Input signal fed to the echo is available as ‘DIRECT OUT’ from this socket. This is useful to connect other equipment.
