OPERATION

3-WAY SIREN SOUND SELECTABLE: - Three variety of sounds i.e. FIRE / AMBULANCE / POLICE are selectable through Push Button Switch. Yellow Button is for FIRE, Blue Button is for AMBULANCE and Red Button is for POLICE. Black Button is On-Off switch knob of siren. When the knob is UP the siren is ‘OFF’, when DOWN the siren is ‘ON’.
A SIREN volume control with RED KNOB is provided to control SIREN sound level. Keep it as per your choice.
CONNECTING CAR BATTERY: - It is most important to connect the CAR BATTERY correctly to the amplifier. If wrong connections are done, the LED will not ‘light-up’ indicating the polarity joined is wrong. On the backplate of amplifier there is a Battery Strip where + 12V DC – is written. On + point of this strip, join Red wire of Battery Cord (supplied free with amplifier) and on – join black. Fix Iron Clip of Red lead on the other end of Battery Cord to RED terminal of Car battery and Black lead to GREEN terminal.

INPUTS
|
It has 1-MIKE and 1-AUX. input. Mike input is LO-Z or low impedance (200-600 ohms). The big advantage of these LO-Z stages is that it allows you to extend the length of mike wire upto 30 meters.
Other is AUX stage. Any type of sound coming from Cassette Player, CD Player, Record Player, TV, Radio, or any Musical Instrument can be amplified through this stage. Insert the output to be amplified to Aux. Input Jack on the front plate. Adjust volume through AUX. volume control.
MIKE and AUX. inputs are mixable.

TONE CONTROL
|
| A tone control is provided to permit shaping of desired tonal quality of sound output. At ‘0’ position the low frequency response is improved while at ‘10’ the high frequency response is better. Normally use the amplifier keeping the control at ‘5’. |

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
|
MICROPHONE: - Use LO-Z microphone on mike stage. All ROXY microphones are LO-Z and match perfectly with this amplifier. Never blow in microphones. This common practice damages their sensitivity. Speak 1 / 2 / 3 instead while testing. While speaking keep the distance between mike and mouth to app. 10-15 cms.
FUSE: - For safety, the amplifier is provided with fuse in DC at the back plate. If it blows, replace it with one of correct rating 5A small.

OUTPUTS
|
SPEAKER CONNECTIONS: - COM 4W 8W 16W have been provided for direct connection of units / speaker to the amplifier. Use 23/36 or thicker wire for connections.

DRIVER UNIT / SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
|
This amplifier is designed basically for use in Car / Jeep / Bus as Mobile amplifier. One can connect 1-2 Horn Speakers like our Models SUH-25, SUH-15, UHC-30, UHC-25, UHC-15 or SUH-40 to its output terminals. The speaker matching is to be done correctly as explained.
Proper Horn speakers connections to the amplifier is the key to the successful use / operation of any Public Address Equipment. For guidance, please refer to a separate sheet ‘SELECTION OF SPEAKERS AND THEIR CONNECTIONS’ attached. Some points are briefed as under:-
1. The output wires coming from Output Speaker Tapings of the amplifier should not short. Firstly it will stop the sound output. Secondly, it will seriously damage the amplifier. DC fuse will be blown off immediately, needing a replacement. Also ensure that output wires do not short.
2. When a number of speaker / units are to be connected, connect them suitably to make a nett impedance i.e. the nett output of all such speaker / units should be just two wires. One of these has to go to COM terminal & other to 4,8 or 16W.
3. Connect all speaker / units at the output FIRST and only after that connect the Battery lead to the Car battery terminals.
