| TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION |
A new latest DIGITAL IC is used in Roxy Echo Pre-Amplifier Models EM-300 & EM-600. Echo Chambers, Echo Machines, Echo Mixer Pre-amplifiers, Echo Delay or Analog Delay are also other common names for Echo Pre-Amplifiers.
The Audio signal which is applied to input of IC comes out after a desecrate interval of time. When this delayed signal is fed-back to the input; it simulates echoes in a reverberant room. Adding the delayed signal to the original gives the desired reverberation effect.
EM-300 has facility of 2-Mike Inputs, whereas EM-600 has 4- Mike inputs. All mike stages are mixable. Three Controls ‘ECHO VOL.’, ‘DELAY’ & ‘REPEAT’ control the echo / reverberation effects generated by the unit. The delay time (gap between the two echoes) is variable between 20-300m sec. max.
U S E S
The ‘ECHO CHAMBER’ is a latest development especially designed to meet the increasing requirements of stage performing or orchestra artists. A discriminating artist can get excellent ‘sound effects’ by this unit.
Echo/Reverberation Effects generated by the chamber can be cassette recorded giving excellent ‘live performance’ effect on reproduction. You might have noticed sponsored advertisements on Radio & TV using such effects, which are very pleasing to the listener and give a ‘Live’ effect.

STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE |
To get the best result out of your ECHO machine in hand, please follow the step-by-step instructions as written.
Connect unit to 220V AC or 12VDC or both.
1. Two mikes either LO-Z or HI-Z can be connected to either of the two mike inputs jacks MIC-1 or MIC-2 (4 Mikes in 600E) at the backside. Keep respective INPUT VOLUME on front plate at say ‘3’ position.
2. Connect Output Socket to AUX-1 [50mV] Input of any amplifier. Keep AMPLIFIER AUX.-1 volume at pt ‘3’ or ‘4’. You can also join to Mic inputs, keep Mic Volume at ‘1’ or ‘2’.
3. Keep ‘ ECHO VOL’ at pt no.’8’ (while keeping ‘DELAY’ at pt no. ‘8’ and ‘REPEAT’ at ‘0’). At this position the LEVEL or RATIO of ‘DIRECT’ input sound and ‘ITS ECHOED’ sound shall be equal.
Going from ‘8’ to ‘0’, the level of ‘DIRECT’ sound shall increase and ‘ECHOED’ sound decrease. Similarly going from ‘8’ to ‘10’, ‘DIRECT’ sound shall decrease and ‘ECHOED’ sound shall increase.
Thus the position of ECHO VOL. control acts as a ‘balance’ between Normal and Delayed sound.
4. ‘DELAY’ control controls/adjusts the Delay time. At ‘0’ position, the Echo/Delay time is minimum or shortest. At ‘10’ position, the Echo/Delay time is maximum or longest.
5. ‘REPEAT’ controls/adjusts the number of repetitions in the given selected Delay Time. At ‘0’ position, the repetitions are lowest. At full, the numbers of repetitions are highest.
6. At this setting of above three controls, as you speak, two sounds are heard. The First one is the ‘DIRECT’ sound as spoken by you. The Second is its ‘ECHOED sound’. Both are of equal/same Level or intensity.
This is a basic setting. From here you can have different ‘EFFECTS’ as under:-
